In Music, students belong to a creative ensemble where sharing performance space requires kindness, respect, and mutual support. We instil the belief that every student can express themselves with integrity through dedication and practice. Fuelled by curiosity about global styles, students adopt a scholarly understanding of notation, theory, and composition. By exploring their musical talents with high aspirations, students become expressive, talented musicians who waltz through life with confidence.
Key Stage 3
Taught through 1 x 55-minute period each week, students are introduced to music from different times and cultures, developing their ability to use musical terminology appropriately. They have ample opportunities to compose and perform their own work based on various influences, enhancing their competence as both creators and performers.
