📜 Exploring the Rule of Law at the Old BaileyOur students recently attended “800 Years of Justice – Magna Carta to UN SDG 16” at the Old Bailey, marking 800 years since the Magna Carta and 10 years of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16.They viewed a rare 1297 Magna Carta, heard inspiring talks from Lord Neuberger, and joined discussions on why justice and strong institutions remain vital today. They also met one of our former students who now works with the City of London Police.Principal Marcus Huntley said:“Opportunities like this show our students the living history behind the justice system and its relevance today. It reinforces the importance of civic responsibility and inspires them to think critically about the world they will help shape.”👏 Thank you to the organisers for giving our pupils this unforgettable experience!#MagnaCarta #RuleOfLaw #CityOfLondon #JusticeForAll #UNSDG16 ... ⚖️ Six Students, One Historic Ceremony ⚖️A proud moment for The Charter School Bermondsey as six of our aspiring law students took part in the ancient Quit Rents Ceremony — a legal tradition dating back over 800 years!Presided over by the Queen’s Remembrancer, this unique ritual sees the City of London “pay rent” to the Crown with two knives and six horseshoes.Afterwards, our students attended a reception at Middle Temple Hall, meeting judges, lawyers, and newly elected City Sheriffs — an inspiring glimpse into the world of law. Here’s to the next generation of legal minds, grounded in heritage and driven by ambition. 👏#CharterBermondsey #StudentSuccess #QuitRentsCeremony #FutureLawyers #BritishLaw #EducationInAction ...
