Greystar Gives Charter Bermondsey a Harmonious Boost
Charter Bermondsey School is embarking on an exciting new chapter with the announcement of its participation in the prestigious Andrew Lloyd Webber Music in Secondary Schools’ Trust (MiSST) programme and a generous sponsorship from property developer Greystar, who are delivering the neighbouring Bermondsey Project development.
Starting in September 2024, every Year 7 student at Charter Bermondsey will receive their own instrument and embark on a three-year musical journey as part of the MiSST curriculum. This rigorous programme, renowned for producing exceptional musicians, will equip students with the skills and confidence to excel in music GCSE, A-Level, and beyond.
To complement the MiSST curriculum, Greystar’s generous donation will fund additional one-to-one and small-group instrument lessons, providing even more students with the opportunity to develop their musical talents.
“We are thrilled to be joining the MiSST program and to have the support of Greystar,” said Marcus Huntley. “This is a transformative moment for our school. Music has the power to inspire, unite, and enrich lives, and we are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have on our students.”
Greystar’s investment in Charter Bermondsey underscores its commitment to the local community.
“We believe in the power of music to transform lives,” said Bronwyn Jones, Greystar Development Director. “We are proud to support Charter Bermondsey and look forward to hearing the beautiful music created by these talented young people.”
The music lessons will commence in September 2024.
